af220ebbe4 fix(errata): workaround for Cortex-A710 erratum 2008768
Cortex-A710 erratum 2008768 is a Cat B erratum that applies to revisions
r0p0, r1p0, and r2p0, and is fixed in r2p1. The workaround is to clear
the ED bit in each ERXCTLR_EL1 register before setting the PWRDN bit in
CPUPWRCTLR_EL1.

744ad97445 feat(brbe): add BRBE support for NS world
This patch enables access to the branch record buffer control registers
in non-secure EL2 and EL1 using the new build option ENABLE_BRBE_FOR_NS.
It is disabled for all secure world, and cannot be used with ENABLE_RME.

This option is disabled by default, however, the FVP platform makefile
enables it for FVP builds.

7affa25cad feat(spmc/lsp): add logical partition framework
Introduce a framework to support running logical
partitions alongside the SPMC in EL3 as per the
v1.1 FF-A spec.

The DECLARE_LOGICAL_PARTITION macro has been added to
simplify the process to define a Logical Partition.
The partitions themselves are statically allocated
with the descriptors placed in RO memory.

It is assumed that the MAX_EL3_LP_DESCS_COUNT will
be defined by the platform.

52a314af25 feat(smmu): configure SMMU Root interface
This change performs a basic configuration of the SMMU root registers
interface on an RME enabled system. This permits enabling GPC checks
for transactions originated from a non-secure or secure device upstream
to an SMMU. It re-uses the boot time GPT base address and configuration
programmed on the PE.
The root register file offset is platform dependent and has to be
supplied on a model command line.

39f0b86a76 feat(fvp): update HW_CONFIG DT loading mechanism
Currently, HW-config is loaded into non-secure memory, which mean
a malicious NS-agent could tamper with it. Ideally, this shouldn't
be an issue since no software runs in non-secure world at this time
(non-secure world has not been started yet).

It does not provide a guarantee though since malicious external
NS-agents can take control of this memory region for update/corruption
after BL2 loads it and before BL31/BL32/SP_MIN consumes it. The threat
is mapped to Threat ID#3 (Bypass authentication scenario) in threat
model [1].

Hence modified the code as below -
1. BL2 loads the HW_CONFIG into secure memory
2. BL2 makes a copy of the HW_CONFIG in the non-secure memory at an
   address provided by the newly added property(ns-load-address) in
   the 'hw-config' node of the FW_CONFIG
3. SP_MIN receives the FW_CONFIG address from BL2 via arg1 so that
   it can retrieve details (address and size) of HW_CONFIG from
   FW_CONFIG
4. A secure and non-secure HW_CONFIG address will eventually be used
   by BL31/SP_MIN/BL32 and BL33 components respectively
5. BL31/SP_MIN dynamically maps the Secure HW_CONFIG region and reads
   information from it to local variables (structures) and then
   unmaps it
6. Reduce HW_CONFIG maximum size from 16MB to 1MB; it appears
   sufficient, and it will also create a free space for any future
   components to be added to memory

2b2b565717 feat(fdt): add the ability to supply idle state information
Some platforms require extra firmware to implement CPU_SUSPEND, or only
have working CPU_SUSPEND in certain configurations. On these platforms,
CPU idle states should only be listed in the devicetree when they are
actually available. Add a function BL31 can use to dynamically supply
this idle state information.

1aa7e302a8 feat(libfdt): add function to set MAC addresses
The devicetree specification[1] defines the generic DT properties
"mac-address" and "local-mac-address", that allow to set the MAC address
for a network device. This is needed because many platform network
devices do not define a method for obtaining a unique MAC address, and
many devices lack the non-volatile storage to hold such a number.

Some platforms (for instance Allwinner) derive the MAC address from
another unique SoC property, for instance some serial number. To allow
those MAC address to be set by TF-A, add a function that finds the DT
node of a network device (by using the "ethernet<x>" alias), then adding
the "local-mac-address" property into that node, setting it to a user
provided address. Platforms can use this function to generate MAC
addresses in a platform specific way, and store them in the DT.

DT consumers like U-Boot or the Linux kernel will automatically pick up
the address from that property and program the MAC device accordingly.

bb01a67306 feat(spmd): enable handling of FF-A SMCs with the SPMC at EL3
Any FF-A SMC that arrives from the normal world is handled by the
SPMD before being forwarded to the SPMC. Similarly any SMC
arriving from the secure world will hit the SPMC first and be
forwarded to the SPMD if required, otherwise the SPMC will
respond directly.

This allows for the existing flow of handling FF-A ABI's when
the SPMC resides at a lower EL to be preserved.

In order to facilitate this flow the spmd_smc_forward function
has been split and control is either passed to the SPMC or it is
forwarded as before. To allow this the flags and cookie parameters
must now also be passed into this method as the SPMC must be able to
provide these when calling back into the SPMD handler as appropriate.

5096aeb2ba feat(spmc): add FF-A secure partition manager core
This patch introduces the core support for enabling an SPMC in EL3
as per the FF-A spec.

The current implemented functionality is targeted to enable
initialization of the SPMC itself and initial support for
bringing up a single S-EL1 SP.

This includes initialization of the SPMC's internal state,
parsing of an SP's manifest, preparing the cpu contexts and
appropriate system registers for the Secure Partition.

The spmc_smc_handler is the main handler for all incoming SMCs
to the SPMC, FF-A ABI handlers and functionality will
be implemented in subsequent patches.

781d07a421 refactor(twed): improve TWED enablement in EL-3
The current implementation uses plat_arm API under generic code.
"plat_arm" API is a convention used with Arm common platform layer
and is reserved for that purpose. In addition, the function has a
weak definition which is not encouraged in TF-A.

Henceforth, removing the weak API with a configurable macro "TWED_DELAY"
of numeric data type in generic code and simplifying the implementation.
By default "TWED_DELAY" is defined to zero, and the delay value need to
be explicitly set by the platforms during buildtime.

308dce4067 feat(gic600ae_fmu): introduce support for RAS error handling
The GIC-600AE uses a range of RAS features for all RAMs, which include

architecture compliant register space.

This patch introduces support to probe the FMU_ERRGSR register to find
the right error record. Once the correct record is identified, the
"handler" function queries the FMU_ERR<m>STATUS register to further
identify the block ID, safety mechanism and the architecturally defined
primary error code. The description of the error is displayed on the
console to simplify debug.

6a0da73647 refactor(el3-runtime): add arch-features detection mechanism
This patch adds architectural features detection procedure to ensure
features enabled are present in the given hardware implementation.

It verifies whether the architecture build flags passed during
compilation match the respective features by reading their ID
registers. It reads through all the enabled feature specific ID
registers at once and panics in case of mismatch(feature enabled
but not implemented in PE).

Feature flags are used at sections (context_management,
save and restore routines of registers) during context switch.
If the enabled feature flag is not supported by the PE, it causes an
exception while saving or restoring the registers guarded by them.

With this mechanism, the build flags are validated at an early
phase prior to their usage, thereby preventing any undefined action
under their control.

This implementation is based on tristate approach for each feature and
currently FEAT_STATE=0 and FEAT_STATE=1 are covered as part of this
patch. FEAT_STATE=2 is planned for phase-2 implementation and will be
taken care separately.

The patch has been explicitly tested, by adding a new test_config
with build config enabling majority of the features and detected
all of them under FVP launched with parameters enabling v8.7 features.

Note: This is an experimental procedure and the mechanism itself is
      guarded by a macro "FEATURE_DETECTION", which is currently being
      disabled by default.

The "FEATURE_DETECTION" macro is documented and the platforms are
encouraged to make use of this diagnostic tool by enabling this
"FEATURE_DETECTION" flag explicitly and get used to its behaviour
during booting before the procedure gets mandated.

319fb08438 refactor(rme): reorg existing RMMD EL3 service FIDs
This patch reworks the GTSI service implementation in RMMD
such that it is made internal to RMMD. This rework also
lays the ground work for additional RMMD services which
can be invoked from RMM.

The rework renames some of the FID macros to make it
more suited for adding more RMMD services. All the RMM-EL31
service SMCs are now routed via rmmd_rmm_el3_handler().

3f4d81dfd2 fix(errata): workaround for Cortex A78 AE erratum 2395408
Cortex A78 AE erratum 2395408 is a Cat B erratum that applies
to revisions <= r0p1. It is still open.

This erratum states, "A translation table walk that matches an
existing L1 prefetch with a read request outstanding on CHI might
fold into the prefetch, which might lead to data corruption for
a future instruction fetch"

This erratum is avoided by setting CPUACTLR2_EL1[40] to 1 to
disable folding of demand requests into older prefetches with
L2 miss requests outstanding.

92e870843e fix(errata): workaround for Cortex A78 AE erratum 2376748
Cortex A78 AE erratum 2376748 is a Cat B erratum that applies
to revisions <= r0p1. It is still open.

The erratum states, "A PE executing a PLDW or PRFM PST instruction
that lies on a mispredicted branch path might cause a second PE
executing a store exclusive to the same cache line address to fail
continuously."

The erratum is avoided by setting CPUACTLR2_EL1[0] to 1 to force
PLDW/PFRM ST to behave like PLD/PRFM LD and not cause invalidations
to other PE caches. There might be a small performance degradation
to this workaround for certain workloads that share data.

This patch applies CVE-2022-23960 workarounds for Cortex-A75,
Cortex-A73, Cortex-A72 & Cortex-A57. This patch also implements

hooks for Coxtex-A72, Cortex-A57, Cortex-A73 and Cortex-A75 to
enable discovery of this SMC via SMC_FEATURES. SMCCC_ARCH_WORKAROUND_3
is implemented for A57/A72 because some revisions are affected by both
CVE-2022-23960 and CVE-2017-5715 and this allows callers to replace
SMCCC_ARCH_WORKAROUND_1 calls with SMCCC_ARCH_WORKAROUND_3. For details

a7521bd5d8 feat(gic): allow overriding GICD_PIDR2_GICV2 address
Older Qualcomm SoCs seem to have a custom Qualcomm implementation of
the GICv2 specification. It's mostly compliant but unfortunately it
looks like a mistake was made with the GICD_PIDR registers. PIDR2 is
defined to be at offset 0xFE8, but the Qualcomm implementation has it
at 0xFD8.

It looks like the entire PIDR0-3/4-7 block is swapped compared to the
ARM implementation: PIDR0 starts at 0xFD0 (instead of 0xFE0)
and PIDR4 starts at 0xFE0 (instead of 0xFD0).

Actually this only breaks a single assert in gicv2_main.c that checks
the GIC version: assert((gic_version == ARCH_REV_GICV2) ...
In release mode everything seems to work correctly.

To keep the code generic, allow affected platforms to override the
GICD_PIDR2_GICV2 register address in platform_def.h. Since this header
is typically included very early (e.g. from assert.h), add an #ifndef
so the definitions from platform_def.h takes priority.

7d33ffe4c1 fix(el3-runtime): set unset pstate bits to default
During a transition to a higher EL some of the PSTATE bits are not set
by hardware, this means that their state may be leaked from lower ELs.
This patch sets those bits to a default value upon entry to EL3.

This patch was tested using a debugger to check the PSTATE values
are correctly set. As well as adding a test in the next patch to
ensure the PSTATE in lower ELs is still maintained after this change.

938e8a500a feat(partition): make provision to store partition GUID value
The FWU multi bank feature supports multiple partitions or banks of
firmware components, where a platform can support having an active and
a backup partition(bank) of firmware images to boot from. This feature
identifies the images in a given bank using image GUID's --
this GUID value corresponds to the UniquePartitionGUID value used to
uniquely identify a GPT partition.

To support identification of images, add a member to the
partition_entry structure to store the UniquePartitionGUID value of
the GPT partition entry. This value is subsequently used to select the
firmware image to boot in a multi partition setup.

The support of a predefined DDR PHY tuning result is removed for

67412e4d7a feat(allwinner): allow to skip PMIC regulator setup
For somewhat historical reasons we are doing some initial PMIC regulator
setup in BL31, as U-Boot does not (yet) have a PMIC driver. This worked
fine so far, but there is at least one board (OrangePi 3) that gets upset,
because the Ethernet PHY needs some *coordinated* bringup of *two*
regulators.

To avoid custom hacks, let's introduce a build option to keep doing the
regulator setup in TF-A. Defining SUNXI_SETUP_REGULATORS to 0 will break
support for some devices on some boards in U-Boot (Ethernet and HDMI),
but will allow to bring up the OrangePi 3 in Linux correctly. We keep
the default at 1 to not change the behaviour for all other boards.

After U-Boot gained proper PMIC support at some point in the future, we
will probably change the default to 0, to get rid of the less optimal
PMIC code in TF-A.

e16045de50 fix(errata): workaround for Cortex X2 erratum 2058056
Cortex X2 erratum 2058056 is a Cat B erratum present in the X2 core.
It applies to revisions r0p0, r1p0, and r2p0 and is still open.

There are 2 ways this workaround can be accomplished, the first of
which involves executing a few additional instructions around MSR
writes to CPUECTLR when disabling the prefetcher. (see SDEN for
details)

However, this patch implements the 2nd possible workaround which sets
the prefetcher into its most conservative mode, since this workaround
is generic.

f74cb0be8a fix(amu): fault handling on EL2 context switch
The HAFGRTR_EL2 register is UNDEFINED unless the CPU supports both
FEAT_FGT and FEAT_AMUv1. FEAT_FGT is mandatory for v8.6-A and upwards,
but FEAT_AMUv1 is optional (from v8.4-A upwards), and as such any
8.6-A cores today without support for FEAT_AMUv1 will trigger an
undefined instruction exception on accessing this register.

Currently ARM_ARCH_AT_LEAST macro has been used to associate with an
architecture extension allowing to access HAFGRTR_EL2 register. This
condition should be replaced with macros specific to individual
features. This patch adds a new set of macros "ENABLE_FEAT_FGT,
ENABLE_FEAT_AMUv1, ENABLE_FEAT_ECV" under build options to provide
controlled access to the HAFGRTR_EL2 register.

Further to ensure that the the build options passed comply
with the given hardware implementation, a feature detection mechanism,
checking whether build options match with the architecture is required
at bootime. This will be implemented and pushed later in a separate
patch.

0ee80f35a2 fix(plat/marvell/a3720/uart): do external reset during initialization
Sometimes when changing UART clock from TBG to XTAL, UART HW enters into
some broken state. It does not transit characters from TX FIFO anymore
and TX FIFO stays always empty. TX FIFO reset does not recover UART HW
from this broken state.

Experiments show that external reset can fix UART HW from this broken
state.

TF-A fatal error handler calls console_a3700_core_init() function to
initialize UART HW. This handler may be called anytime during CPU
runtime, also when kernel is running.

U-Boot or Linux kernel may change UART clock to TBG to achieve higher
baudrates. During initialization, console_a3700_core_init() resets UART
configuration to default settings, which means that it also changes
UART clock from TBG to XTAL.

Do an external reset of UART via North Bridge Peripheral reset register
to prevent this UART hangup.

dc78e62d80 feat(sme): enable SME functionality
This patch adds two new compile time options to enable SME in TF-A:
ENABLE_SME_FOR_NS and ENABLE_SME_FOR_SWD for use in non-secure and
secure worlds respectively. Setting ENABLE_SME_FOR_NS=1 will enable
SME for non-secure worlds and trap SME, SVE, and FPU/SIMD instructions
in secure context. Setting ENABLE_SME_FOR_SWD=1 will disable these
traps, but support for SME context management does not yet exist in
SPM so building with SPD=spmd will fail.

The existing ENABLE_SVE_FOR_NS and ENABLE_SVE_FOR_SWD options cannot
be used with SME as it is a superset of SVE and will enable SVE and

93b785f5ae feat(arm_fpga): determine GICR base by probing
When an Arm Ltd GIC (Arm GIC-[567]00) is instantiated with one or more
ITSes, the ITS MMIO frames appear between the distributor and
redistributor addresses. This makes the beginning of the redistributor
region dependent on the existence and number of ITSes.

To support various FPGA images, with and without ITSes, probe the
addresses in question, to learn whether they accommodate an ITS or a
redistributor. This can be safely done by looking at the PIDR[01]
registers, which contain an ID code for each region, documented in the
Arm GIC TRMs.

We try to find all ITSes instantiated, and skip either two or four 64K
frames, depending on GICv4.1 support. At some point we will find the
first redistributor; this address we then update in the DTB.

73a643eed9 feat(gicv3): introduce GIC component identification
The GIC specification describes ID registers in each GIC register frame
(PIDRx), which can be used to identify a GIC component. The Arm Ltd. GIC
implementations use certain ID values to identify the distributor, the
redistributors and other parts like ITSes.

Introduce a function that reads those part number IDs, which are spread
over two registers. The actual numbers are only meaningful in connection
with a certain GIC model, which would need to be checked beforehand, by
the caller.

4d585fe52f feat(libfdt): also allow changing base address
For platforms where we don't know the number of cores at compile time,
the size of the GIC redistributor frame is then also undetermined, since
it depends on this number of cores.
On top of this the GICR base address can also change, when an unknown
number of ITS frames (including zero) take up space between the
distributor and redistributor.

So while those two adjustments are done for independent reasons, the
code for doing so is very similar, so we should utilise the existing
fdt_adjust_gic_redist() function.

Add an (optional) gicr_base parameters to the prototype, so callers can
choose to also adjust this base address later, if needed.

8cb99c3fc3 feat(SPMD): route secure interrupts to SPMC
Define a handler in the SPMD to route secure interrupts occurring while
the normal world runs. On a Group1 Secure interrupt (with a GICv3 or a
Group0 interrupt on GICv2), the normal world is pre-empted to EL3 and
redirected to the SPMD/SPMC for further handling.

68120783d6 feat(mpmm): add support for MPMM
MPMM - the Maximum Power Mitigation Mechanism - is an optional
microarchitectural feature present on some Armv9-A cores, introduced
with the Cortex-X2, Cortex-A710 and Cortex-A510 cores.

MPMM allows the SoC firmware to detect and limit high activity events
to assist in SoC processor power domain dynamic power budgeting and
limit the triggering of whole-rail (i.e. clock chopping) responses to
overcurrent conditions.

This feature is enabled via the `ENABLE_MPMM` build option.
Configuration can be done via FCONF by enabling `ENABLE_MPMM_FCONF`, or
by via the plaform-implemented `plat_mpmm_topology` function.

742ca2307f feat(amu): enable per-core AMU auxiliary counters
This change makes AMU auxiliary counters configurable on a per-core
basis, controlled by `ENABLE_AMU_AUXILIARY_COUNTERS`.

Auxiliary counters can be described via the `HW_CONFIG` device tree if
the `ENABLE_AMU_FCONF` build option is enabled, or the platform must
otherwise implement the `plat_amu_topology` function.

A new phandle property for `cpu` nodes (`amu`) has been introduced to
the `HW_CONFIG` specification to allow CPUs to describe the view of
their own AMU:

```
cpu0: cpu@0 {
    ...
    amu = <&cpu0_amu>;
};
```

Multiple cores may share an `amu` handle if they implement the
same set of auxiliary counters.

AMU counters are described for one or more AMUs through the use of a new
`amus` node:

```
amus {
    cpu0_amu: amu-0 {
        #address-cells = <1>;
        #size-cells = <0>;
        counter@0 {
            reg = <0>;
            enable-at-el3;
        };
        counter@n {
            reg = <n>;
            ...
        };
    };
};
```

This structure describes the **auxiliary** (group 1) AMU counters.
Architected counters have architecturally-defined behaviour, and as
such do not require DTB entries.

These `counter` nodes support two properties:

- The `reg` property represents the counter register index.
- The presence of the `enable-at-el3` property determines whether
  the firmware should enable the counter prior to exiting EL3.

1fd685a74d refactor(amu): conditionally compile auxiliary counter support
This change reduces preprocessor dependencies on the
`AMU_GROUP1_NR_COUNTERS` and `AMU_GROUP1_COUNTERS_MASK` definitions, as
these values will eventually be discovered dynamically.

In their stead, we introduce the `ENABLE_AMU_AUXILIARY_COUNTERS` build
option, which will enable support for dynamically detecting and
enabling auxiliary AMU counters.

This substantially reduces the amount of memory used by platforms that
know ahead of time that they do not have any auxiliary AMU counters.

596d20d9e4 fix(pie): invalidate data cache in the entire image range if PIE is enabled
Currently on image entry, the data cache in the RW address range is
invalidated before MMU is enabled to safeguard against potential

RO sections including the GOT may be also modified during pie fixup.
Therefore, to be on the safe side, invalidate the entire image
region if PIE is enabled.
