The rk3576 uses a different base-compatible, as starting with this
generation, the clock phase tuning is done via registers inside
the mmc controller and not from inside the CRU.
In U-Boot we do not tune at all, so no other code changes are
necessary.

When the SPL build-phase was first created it was designed to solve a
particular problem (the need to init SDRAM so that U-Boot proper could
be loaded). It has since expanded to become an important part of U-Boot,
with three phases now present: TPL, VPL and SPL
Due to this history, the term 'SPL' is used to mean both a particular
phase (the one before U-Boot proper) and all the non-proper phases.
This has become confusing.
For a similar reason CONFIG_SPL_BUILD is set to 'y' for all 'SPL'
phases, not just SPL. So code which can only be compiled for actual SPL,
for example, must use something like this:

In Makefiles we have similar issues. SPL_ has been used as a variable
which expands to either SPL_ or nothing, to chose between options like
CONFIG_BLK and CONFIG_SPL_BLK. When TPL appeared, a new SPL_TPL variable
was created which expanded to 'SPL_', 'TPL_' or nothing. Later it was
updated to support 'VPL_' as well.
This series starts a change in terminology and usage to resolve the
above issues:
- The word 'xPL' is used instead of 'SPL' to mean a non-proper build
- A new CONFIG_XPL_BUILD define indicates that the current build is an
'xPL' build
- The existing CONFIG_SPL_BUILD is changed to mean SPL; it is not now
defined for TPL and VPL phases
- The existing SPL_ Makefile variable is renamed to SPL_
- The existing SPL_TPL Makefile variable is renamed to PHASE_
It should be noted that xpl_phase() can generally be used instead of
the above CONFIGs without a code-space or run-time penalty.
This series does not attempt to convert all of U-Boot to use this new
terminology but it makes a start. In particular, renaming spl.h and
common/spl seems like a bridge too far at this point.
The series is fully bisectable. It has also been checked to ensure there
are no code-size changes on any commit.
Allow MMC init when clock support is not enabled in a particular phase.
Refactor the setting of priv->emmc_clk so it is a bit clearer.

Replace fifoth_val property with its fifo-depth counterpart in all DW
MMC drivers. fifo-depth is a common property used in upstream Linux
kernel. The FIFOTH register value will be calculated using fifo-depth
value in DW MMC core (dw_mmc.c). This change reduces code duplication in
platform drivers, and pulls common FIFOTH register value calculation
into core dw_mmc driver where it belongs.
No functional change.

Hosts capable of 8-bit can also do 4 bits, fix use of 4-bit mode when
8-bit mode is supported.
This fixes use of 1-bit mode with SD NAND on ROCK Pi S using the DT in
v6.11-rc1 that chage to use 8-bit bus to also support eMMC. With this
4-bit mode is used with SD NAND and 8-bit mode with eMMC, same as in
Linux kernel.

With MMC_PWRSEQ enabled the following link issue may happen when
building SPL and SPL_PWRSEQ is not enabled.

The get_mmc_clk ops is expected to set a clock rate and return the
configured rate as an unsigned value. However, if clk_set_rate fails,
e.g. using a fixed rate clock, a negative error value is returned.
The mmc core will treat this as a valid unsigned rate and tries to
configure a divider based on this bogus clock rate.
Use 0 as the return value when setting clock rate fails, the mmc core
will configure to use bypass mode instead of using a bogus divider.

The RK3288 TRM states that, for 8-bit DDR modes:
The CLKDIV register should always be programmed with a value
higher than zero (0); that is, a clock divider should always be
used for 8-bit DDR mode.
In Linux, the driver applies this logic for all SoCs using the driver
and does not distinguish RK3288, so presumably this requirement is the
same for all other Rockchip SoCs using this IP.
Add the necessary code to double the clock frequency when 8-bit DDR is
selected. The dw_mmc core already handles setting CLKDIV correctly
given the input clock and desired bus clock.

The Rockchip SoCs rk3066/rk3188 have MMC DT nodes
with as compatible string "rockchip,rk2928-dw-mshc".
Add OF_PLATDATA support to the existing driver with
help of a DM_DRIVER_ALIAS.
This type needs a permanent enabled fifo.
The other Rockchip SoCs always have the property
"u-boot,spl-fifo-mode" in the MMC DT nodes,
because MMC to SRAM can't do DMA.
Make this property a requirement for MMC OF_PLATDATA
structures. The property "fifo-mode" must be added
for all other compile modes.

The document rockchip-dw-mshc.yaml decribes a maximum of 4 clocks.
In the rockchip_dw_mmc driver the clock name in use was "fixed"
to "ciu" with index 1, but later reverted back to index 0.
The clock drivers can handle both, but the calling driver
should submit correct data as a standard practice.
Fix the "ciu" clock index by setting it back to 1.

We use the U_BOOT_ prefix (i.e. U_BOOT_DRIVER) to declare a driver but
in every other case we just use DM_. Update the alias macros to use the
DM_ prefix.
We could perhaps rename U_BOOT_DRIVER() to DM_DRIVER(), but this macro
is widely used and there is at least some benefit to indicating it us a
U-Boot driver, particularly for code ported from Linux. So for now, let's
keep that name.

This construct is quite long-winded. In earlier days it made some sense
since auto-allocation was a strange concept. But with driver model now
used pretty universally, we can shorten this to 'auto'. This reduces
verbosity and makes it easier to read.
Coincidentally it also ensures that every declaration is on one line,
thus making dtoc's job easier.

In the current implementation, when dtoc parses a dtb to generate a struct
platdata it converts the information related to linked nodes as pointers
to struct platdata of destination nodes. By doing this, it makes
difficult to get pointer to udevices created based on these
information.
This patch extends dtoc to use struct driver_info when populating
information about linked nodes, which makes it easier to later get
the devices created. In this context, reimplement functions like
clk_get_by_index_platdata() which made use of the previous approach.

Currently when using OF_PLATDATA the binding between devices and drivers
is done trying to match the compatible string in the node with a driver
name. However, usually a single driver supports multiple compatible strings
which causes that only devices which its compatible string matches a
driver name get bound.
To overcome this issue, this patch adds the U_BOOT_DRIVER_ALIAS macro,
which generates no code at all, but allows an easy way to declare driver
name aliases. Thanks to this, dtoc could be improve to look for the driver
name based on its alias when it populates the U_BOOT_DEVICE entry.

When using OF_PLATDATA, the bind process between devices and drivers
is performed trying to match compatible string with driver names.
However driver names are not strictly defined, and also there are different
names used when declaring a driver with U_BOOT_DRIVER, the name of the
symbol used in the linker list and the used in the struct driver_info.
In order to make things a bit more clear, rename the drivers names. This
will also help for further OF_PLATDATA improvements, such as checking
for valid driver names.

Rockchips dwmmc controllers can't do dma to non-ddr addresses,
like for example the soc-internal sram but during boot parts of
TrustedFirmware need to be placed there from the read FIT image.
So add handling for a u-boot,spl-fifo-mode to not put the mmc
controllers into fifo mode for all time.
The regular fifo-mode property still takes precedent and only
if not set do we check for the spl-specific property.

When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and
there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the
area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it
with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the
Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first
line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line)
and with slightly different comment styles than us.
In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility
and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style.
This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared
license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag
contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag
and have introduced one.

to the SPL not able to remove 'clock-names' node in dts.
I'm not saying this is not correct, but I would prefer to handle
this in dts or clock driver to save memory for SPL.
For example the rk3288 SPL size has out of memory if not enable
BACK_TO_BROM option, there are many other SoCs has less internal
memory than rk3288.

These support the flat device tree. We want to use the dev_read_..()
prefix for functions that support both flat tree and live tree. So rename
the existing functions to avoid confusion.
In the end we will have:
1. dev_read_addr...() - works on devices, supports flat/live tree
2. devfdt_get_addr...() - current functions, flat tree only
3. of_get_address() etc. - new functions, live tree only
All drivers will be written to use 1. That function will in turn call
either 2 or 3 depending on whether the flat or live tree is in use.
Note this involves changing some dead code - the imx_lpi2c.c file.

The 'clock-freq-min-max' property was deprecated in the upstream
(i.e. Linux) DTS bindings in favor of the 'max-frequency' property.
With the latest RK3399 DTSI does no longer include the deprecated
property and the rockchip_dw_mmc driver requiring it to be present,
the driver doesn't bind to the node in the RK3399 DTSI any longer
(thus breaking access to the SD card on the RK3399-Q7 board).
To fix this, we implement a similar logic as in the Linux driver: if
the deprecated property is present, we issue a warning (if DEBUG is
enabled); if it is missing, we require 'max-frequency' to be set and
use it to create a min/max value-pair.

At present devices use a simple integer offset to record the device tree
node associated with the device. In preparation for supporting a live
device tree, which uses a node pointer instead, refactor existing code to
access this field through an inline function.

The following changes are made to the clock API:
* The concept of "clocks" and "peripheral clocks" are unified; each clock
provider now implements a single set of clocks. This provides a simpler
conceptual interface to clients, and better aligns with device tree
clock bindings.
* Clocks are now identified with a single "struct clk", rather than
requiring clients to store the clock provider device and clock identity
values separately. For simple clock consumers, this isolates clients
from internal details of the clock API.
* clk.h is split so it only contains the client/consumer API, whereas
clk-uclass.h contains the provider API. This aligns with the recently
added reset and mailbox APIs.
* clk_ops .of_xlate(), .request(), and .free() are added so providers
can customize these operations if needed. This also aligns with the
recently added reset and mailbox APIs.
* clk_disable() is added.
* All users of the current clock APIs are updated.
* Sandbox clock tests are updated to exercise clock lookup via DT, and
clock enable/disable.
* rkclk_get_clk() is removed and replaced with standard APIs.
Buildman shows no clock-related errors for any board for which buildman
can download a toolchain.
test/py passes for sandbox (which invokes the dm clk test amongst
others).
