Management of idle applets is removed. Consequently, the pipelining support is also removed. It is a huge change but it should be transparent for the agents, except regarding the performances. Of course, being able to reuse already openned connections and being able to multiplex frames on a given connection is a must have. These features will be restored later. hello and idle timeout are not longer used. Because an applet is spawned to process a NOTIFY frame and closed after receiving the ACK reply, the processing timeout is the only one required. In addition, the parameters to limit the SPOE applet creation are no longer used too. The related issue is #2502.
HAProxy
HAProxy is a free, very fast and reliable reverse-proxy offering high availability, load balancing, and proxying for TCP and HTTP-based applications.
Installation
The INSTALL file describes how to build HAProxy. A list of packages is also available on the wiki.
Getting help
The discourse and the mailing-list are available for questions or configuration assistance. You can also use the slack or IRC channel. Please don't use the issue tracker for these.
The issue tracker is only for bug reports or feature requests.
Documentation
The HAProxy documentation has been split into a number of different files for ease of use. It is available in text format as well as HTML. The wiki is also meant to replace the old architecture guide.
