This patch implements the 'curves' keyword on server lines as well as
the 'ssl-default-server-curves' keyword in the global section.
It also add the keyword on the server line in the ssl_curves reg-test.
These keywords allow the configuration of the curves list for a server.

Despite having replaced the SSL BIOs to use our own raw_sock layer, we
still didn't exploit the CO_SFL_MSG_MORE flag which is pretty useful to
avoid sending incomplete packets. It's particularly important for SSL
since the extra overhead almost guarantees that each send() will be
followed by an incomplete (and often odd-sided) segment.
We already have an xprt_st set of flags to pass info to the various
layers, so let's just add a new one, SSL_SOCK_SEND_MORE, that is set
or cleared during ssl_sock_from_buf() to transfer the knowledge of
CO_SFL_MSG_MORE. This way we can recover this information and pass
it to raw_sock.
This alone is sufficient to increase by ~5-10% the H2 bandwidth over
SSL when multiple streams are used in parallel.
The minimum and maximum delays between two automatic updates of a given
OCSP response can now be set via global options. It allows to limit the
update rate of OCSP responses for configurations that use many frontend
certificates with the ocsp-update option set if the updates are deemed
too costly.
This option will define how the ocsp update mechanism behaves. The
option can either be set to 'on' or 'off' and can only be specified in a
crt-list entry so that we ensure that it concerns a single certificate.
The 'off' mode is the default one and corresponds to the old behavior
(no automatic update).
When the option is set to 'on', we will try to get an ocsp response
whenever an ocsp uri can be found in the frontend's certificate. The
only limitation of this mode is that the certificate's issuer will have
to be known in order for the OCSP certid to be built.
This patch only adds the parsing of the option. The full functionality
will come in a later commit.
The CRT and CA verify error codes were stored in 6 bits each in the
xprt_st field of the ssl_sock_ctx meaning that only error code up to 63
could be stored. Likewise, the ca-ignore-err and crt-ignore-err options
relied on two unsigned long longs that were used as bitfields for all
the ignored error codes. On the latest OpenSSL1.1.1 and with OpenSSLv3
and newer, verify errors have exceeded this value so these two storages
must be increased. The error codes will now be stored on 7 bits each and
the ignore-err bitfields are replaced by a big enough array and
dedicated bit get and set functions.
It can be backported on all stable branches.

Low footprint client machines may not have enough memory to download a
complete 16KB TLS record at once. With the new option the maximum
record size can be defined on the server side.
Note: Before limiting the the record size on the server side, a client should
consider using the TLS Maximum Fragment Length Negotiation Extension defined
in RFC6066.
This patch fixes GitHub issue #1679.
Add a new member in ssl_sock_ctx structure to reference the quic_conn
instance if used in the QUIC stack. This member is initialized during
qc_conn_init().
This is needed to be able to access to the quic_conn without relying on
the connection instance. This commit is part of the rearchitecture of
xprt-quic layers and the separation between xprt and connection
instances.
No need to include the full tree management code, type files only
need the definitions. Doing so reduces the whole code size by around
3.6% and the build time is down to just 6s.
The ssl_bc_hsk_err sample fetch will need to raise more errors than only
handshake related ones hence its renaming to a more generic ssl_bc_err.
This patch is required because some handshake failures that should have
been caught by this fetch (verify error on the server side for instance)
were missed. This is caused by a change in TLS1.3 in which the
'Finished' state on the client is reached before its certificate is sent
(and verified) on the server side (see the "Protocol Overview" part of
RFC 8446).
This means that the SSL_do_handshake call is finished long before the
server can verify and potentially reject the client certificate.
The ssl_bc_hsk_err will then need to be expanded to catch other types of
errors.
This change is also applied to the frontend fetches (ssl_fc_hsk_err
becomes ssl_fc_err) and to their string counterparts.
When we set tune.ssl.capture-cipherlist-size to a non-zero value
we are able to capture cipherlist supported by the client. To be able to
provide JA3 compatible TLS fingerprinting we need to capture more
information from Client Hello message:
- SSL Version
- SSL Extensions
- Elliptic Curves
- Elliptic Curve Point Formats
This patch allows HAProxy to capture such information and store it for
later use.
This new sample fetch along the ssl_fc_hsk_err_str fetch contain the
last SSL error of the error stack that occurred during the SSL
handshake (from the frontend's perspective). The errors happening during
the client's certificate verification will still be given by the
ssl_c_err and ssl_c_ca_err fetches. This new fetch will only hold errors
retrieved by the OpenSSL ERR_get_error function.
Since commit 04a5a44 ("BUILD: ssl: use HAVE_OPENSSL_KEYLOG instead of
OpenSSL versions") the "tune.ssl.keylog" feature is broken because
HAVE_OPENSSL_KEYLOG does not exist.
Replace this by a HAVE_SSL_KEYLOG which is defined in openssl-compat.h.
Also add an error when not built with the right openssl version.
Must be backported as far as 2.3.
HAVE_SSL_CTX_SET_CIPHERSUITES is newly defined macro set in openssl-compat.h,
which helps to identify ssl libs (currently OpenSSL-1.1.1 only) that supports
TLS13 cipersuites manipulation on TLS13 context
Let us use SSL_CTX_set1_curves_list, defined by OpenSSL, as well as in
openssl-compat when SSL_CTRL_SET_CURVES_LIST is present (BoringSSL),
for feature detection instead of versions.
In issue #785, users are reporting that it's not convenient to load a
".crt.key" when the configuration contains a ".crt".
This option allows to remove the extension of the certificate before
trying to load any extra SSL file (.key, .ocsp, .sctl, .issuer etc.)
The patch changes a little bit the way ssl_sock_load_files_into_ckch()
looks for the file.
Surprisingly there were still a number of [0] definitions for variable
sized arrays in certain structures all over the code. We need to use
VAR_ARRAY instead of zero to accommodate various compilers' preferences,
as zero was used only on old ones and tends to report errors on new ones.
OpenSSL 1.1.1 provides a callback registering function
SSL_CTX_set_keylog_callback, which allows one to receive a string
containing the keys to deciphers TLSv1.3.
Unfortunately it is not possible to store this data in binary form and
we can only get this information using the callback. Which means that we
need to store it until the connection is closed.
This patches add 2 pools, the first one, pool_head_ssl_keylog is used to
store a struct ssl_keylog which will be inserted as a ex_data in a SSL *.
The second one is pool_head_ssl_keylog_str which will be used to store
the hexadecimal strings.
To enable the capture of the keys, you need to set "tune.ssl.keylog on"
in your configuration.

Since commit 2954c47 ("MEDIUM: ssl: allow crt-list caching"), the
ssl_bind_conf is allocated directly in the crt-list, and the crt-list
can be shared between several bind_conf. The deinit() code wasn't
changed to handle that.
This patch fixes the issue by removing the free of the ssl_conf in
ssl_sock_free_all_ctx().
It should be completed with a patch that free the ssl_conf and the
crt-list.
Fix issue #700.
There are list definitions everywhere in the code, let's drop the need
for including list-t.h to declare them. The rest of the list manipulation
is huge however and not needed everywhere so using the list walking macros
still requires to include list.h.
This patch fixes all the leftovers from the include cleanup campaign. There
were not that many (~400 entries in ~150 files) but it was definitely worth
doing it as it revealed a few duplicates.
