Kevin Daudt 8778e17f07 main/git: restore disabled checks again ...

b7386174f3 (main/git: upgrade to 2.22.0, 2019-06-09) removed the
`options="!check"` declaration, but the commit did not add a check
function.

Restore the declaration with the accompanying comments.
